Wood Borer – FP-155-AO

The FP-155 Hydraulic Wood Borer is designed to drill holes in a range of different styles of sleepers at various sizes.

The FP-155 Wood Borer accepts various size and length drill bits that allow the holes in track sleepers to be tailored to the correct spikes and locks being fitted. The effectiveness of a spike holding a plate to the sleeper depends largely on the fit of the spike in the predrilled hole. Melvelle Equipment can supply drills and drill guides to suit all applications.

Another feature of the FP-155 is the ability to drill various sleeper types and control the depth of drill. With a flexible drill attachment system, the wood borer can drill composite, hard wood and softwood sleepers with ease. The height adjustment sleeper also ensures the sleepers are not drilled through and consistent holes are given.

Most traditional drills leave the drill bit exposed at all times, while the FP-155 has the drill is covered by the lower drill shroud, ensuring e operator is protected from all rotating elements.
