The FP-143-YE Trackpack is designed to supply hydraulic power to Melvelle Equipment workheads, as well as the brake cylinder on the machine trolleys. The Trackpack also acts as a counterbalance for the workheads that assemble to it.
The Trackpack has a total of nine different rail maintenance workheads able to be assembled to it for use. This is achieved by utilising a quick-change attachment, along with hydraulic quick snap connectors. This functionality allows the operators/company a cost-effective solution as an array of various workheads can be transported to site with only a few Trackpacks required (equal to the number of required operators).
Trackpacks now incorporate a detachable boom allowing for a smaller space requirement for transport. The detachable boom also allows for easier assembly if the Trackpack and workhead are being manually assembled on site.
By utilising the adjustable pivot point, the counterbalance feature of all trackpacks is maintained across all work heads maintaining an operator lift between fasteners of approximately 5kg. This helps prevent repetitive strain injuries due to heavy lifting.
